Using matlab help to create your own presentations, graphs, or other statistical presentations has become increasingly popular over the last decade or so. It is widely accepted that in nearly every industry there is a demand for more personalized presentations, especially in business and finance fields where the presentation of data is the largest singular value creation process. matlab excel is used to aid data manipulation in an Excel based format.

For example, if you are presenting data from a sales sample of a particular quarter to an analyst for research purposes, you would most likely be using a (a b) map with color-coded bars and lines to show the results. If you were presenting the same data to a manager or business owner, the format would be (a b) map with line colors indicating how much better the average sale price was during a certain time period compared to the average sales price during a previous time period. Either format would require matlab help to plot the data.

In situations such as this, what would matlab tell the analyst or manager? In many cases it will be (a b) pop over here map with (a b) lines showing the relationship between variables xi and yi. Matlab excel users can plot these maps by selecting’show colors’ option from the matlab menu. When you hover your mouse cursor over one of the lines, it will open a new dialog box with (a b) colored background.

A helpful feature that I like is what is called grid view. With matlab help you can actually drag the map around and view it as a scatter graph with hatches at every x and y. By selecting all of the data points, you can see the distribution of prices for each. The data points range over time so by default, the y-axis shows the average sale price for that time period. Notice how the average rises as you move higher in the chart. This helps you plot a trend line by connecting the highs and lows to the data points.

The plot function in matlab gives you the ability to fit a normal curve using the data that you have entered. By default the grid map looks like a parabola with the data points being inserted into a parabolic shape. You can specify a range of dates so that you can fit a normal curve to the data. To fit the curve simply enter the dates in the date cell and click the fit curve button. The plot will automatically fit into a parabola.

A useful feature that I like in matlab is what is called ‘abs’ function. By clicking on ‘abs’ you will get the values of x for every time interval (start/end) up to the closest value of zero. Enter the value of x in the start date cell and the value of xi in the end date cell and matlab will give you the results of the probability density function for that set of data points. You can also select ‘min’ and ‘max’ values to define the range of probability for your plot. Notice that the range is defined by the width of the x-axis.

Let’s say that you would like to plot the normal distribution. First, enter the data you want to plot in the date cell and then click on the ‘fit’ button. Matlab will calculate the probability density function and will give you a range of values from zero to one. Notice that the range persists when the x-axis is changed. Now you can plot your data or you can choose another data set that is normal to the normal distribution.

Using matlab to solve my problem was a real help. It certainly helped me plot my data without having to use any outside help. This means that the knowledge that I gained from matlab help me solve my problem much faster than if I had used a spreadsheet.
